Summer Thoughts and Updates

Image
I've been lacking it this summer to be honest. I feel like so much has happened so far from setting up the warehouse to going to Europe for workcation but this summer still feels incomplete and I have an idea why. Lately, I've been really playing with my cars as a form of outlet regardless if it's stressful or not. Whether if it was bad or good, it was always somewhat relaxing but I'm starting to see this mentality change. Earlier this month, I picked up my R33 from ABS Autobody and had a few mods I've been trying to install. First thing I had get done was install Ohlins, Ikeya arms and SPL arms. Shortly after that, I put on the CE28 from my old R32 and yeah, everything decided to fail. First thing that went was the fuel pump control module then the bursted line and lastly, the alternator. I threw on a Link ecu from Matt to do the lazy way of checking all the vitals and realized that after we checked the fuel pump, we threw it back in and probably cracked the line s...

S2000 Summer Pt1

Image
Man, it's been a good minute since I've updated this shit but I finally have time to sit down for a few and take my mind of things to reflect back. Lately, life has been pretty hectic with work, travel and setting up the warehouse. Where I have down time, I usually use that time to arrange things for my cars or go run personal errands.  I had to go back to my previous post to look at what I had written since the car has gone through a slight transformation since then. Most importantly, the Regamasters and Renegade CF wing stands are finally on so the car, from the outside, looks about how I imagined it to look. Since this was mainly to be used as a track car, I added a splitter up front and Arvou tow hook to help. These were the few other exterior bits that were added but they're more for function than make the car look more aesthetically pleasing.  As for the suspension, Ikeya arms were added up front to help with camber and clearing the front fenders. I also switched out ...

S2000, 15 years later

I've spent the past 2 months slowly piecing the s2000 together. The car finally came back from the paint shop and Formula S. It's been fun putting this together and hunting for all the little parts but I'm still not done with this car yet. Every part has a purpose and a reason on why it's included. After bringing the car back and really looking at it, the car brings back so much memories from late 00s and early 2010s. It doesn't really stand out as a car that was built recently other than the Advan TC4 that are on it. Other than that, the S2 has been fun to drive and feels way quicker in the turn than anything I've had in the last few years. I have some road trips and track days coming up soon and hopefully will have more to post then! 2006 Sebring Silver S2000 Shine ASM style front bumper Shine ASM style rear bumper Shine ASM style hood Downforce Sidestep Mugen Hardtop EVS Mirrors Voltex Type 2 Arvou Tow Hook Advan TC4 Black Chrome 18x9.5 +45 Falken Azenis RT6...

March Update

Image
The past few months have truly been busy but unfortunately, not the passing time quickly busy. I meant to write the past few weeks but I just haven't been feeling motivated enough to write anything. Recently, a lot has changed and as far as car life goes, it's been another one of those blurs for better or for worse. I've been reflecting about that and I feel like I'm on a quick path to burn myself out on this shit lol. During the middle of January, I decided to sell my Supra since I was thinking about getting a more practical car. Realistically though, I think I was just a little bored of the car. It's a great car, no doubt, but the car just felt a bit too digital and computerized. I always forget about BMW's turbo inline 6 and their powerband until I drive it again. These engines are so smooth with a bunch of torque everywhere. Ideally, that's great for a daily but if you're trying to have fun with a car, the powerband becomes a bit unspirited.  Shortl...

2022 New Year, Same Me

Image
Just like that, 2021, the year has ended. 2021 was supposed to be a year of hope for many, a year of returning to normalcy or at least somewhat. For many, I'm sure I'm included, we forced everything into going back to normal as much as we can. Regardless if that worked or not, you can definitely see people doing their best to not wallow in the loss of a year in 2020 but rather embrace what it means to be normal. However, with the surge in cases, regardless of if the numbers are believed to be real or not, we start to see people panicking and the return of public fear. It's the fear that people have that drives this notion that we need to close off ourselves from the public and that others should too. Regardless, the year is starting off positively neutral personally but maybe not so great for others. So far, the 997 is waiting on a few small parts that were overlooked on my end. Hopefully I'll have it ready for Feb track day. The Supra has been great but I've been ...

997 NOT GT3

Weather, lately, has been rather... brisk. It's the perfect weather, really, to enjoy cars like the R32 with questionable AC or the Supra that may or may not be prone to heat soaking. The weather is, as car people would call it, boost weather. I figured because of this, I should really drive the R32 as much as I can regardless of the weather. Given that the car was well maintained, clean and spacious, I ended up driving the car almost everyday for the past 3 weeks. I pretty much want to put this blame purely on Austin since I had to go to LAX to pick him up and only the R32 can fit a luggage inside. Even though the car is very analog and as much as I enjoy the nostalgic feel, the feeling of having something old definitely gets old quickly. I guess it's fine if you have driven only old cars or you're into using Nokia brick phones.  Right after the track day, I reflected a little on the Supra and thought, man, it's a nice car but I wanted something that felt a little more...

Black Friday Buttonwillow

Image
On Black Friday, instead of participating in the usual routine of buying useless shit because it was a good deal, a few of us decided to go to Buttonwillow. I managed to trick Austin into driving my shit to Buttonwillow while I got neck pains sleeping in one of the worst OEM seats out there. To my surprise, the Supra drove pretty well for being maybe an inch or two off the ground but in the end, it was still on bump stop. Other than being pretty low drama of an event, there were still some shitty cars that managed to ruin the event.
