March Update

The past few months have truly been busy but unfortunately, not the passing time quickly busy. I meant to write the past few weeks but I just haven't been feeling motivated enough to write anything. Recently, a lot has changed and as far as car life goes, it's been another one of those blurs for better or for worse. I've been reflecting about that and I feel like I'm on a quick path to burn myself out on this shit lol.

During the middle of January, I decided to sell my Supra since I was thinking about getting a more practical car. Realistically though, I think I was just a little bored of the car. It's a great car, no doubt, but the car just felt a bit too digital and computerized. I always forget about BMW's turbo inline 6 and their powerband until I drive it again. These engines are so smooth with a bunch of torque everywhere. Ideally, that's great for a daily but if you're trying to have fun with a car, the powerband becomes a bit unspirited.

Shortly after, a small heat wave hit and reminded me of the harsh reality that I am a princess and need my AC. Unfortunately, the GTR doesn't have it. It's not that the car doesn't have AC but I'm afraid to recharge it. I know if I recharge it and there's a leak, it'll bother the hell out of me and I'll be spending a lot of money just to fix it. The only solution to this is to buy that practical daily that I mentioned before. This brings me to the next project, a practical daily known as the S2000.

Yeah, I know the car is pretty much a Supra with even less space. Realistically though, I don't even know what daily I would want. Would I want something like a RS6 or would I want some SUV that can do some towing. While figuring it out, I thought I should get a GR86 to hold me over. Luckily for me, my friend was getting himself a M2 Competition and decided to sell his very clean AP2.2. I figured the S2000 would hold the value better than the GR86 if I did decide to unload it later. This was a pretty good decision with a solid reasoning behind it until I decided to modify the car...

The s2000 has always been that one car I didn't really want to buy but I have a bit of history with. I originally purchased one brand new from Sierra Honda back in 2007 and it was the car I started tracking with. At the time, I started working for William at E-Autosport and he had this track prepped s2000 on cwest aero and orange CE28N. It was a pretty quick car and I learned a lot from him. I always told myself that if I were to get another s2000, it has to be where I left off on my old s2000. Luckily for me, Son, Alan and Chris runs Formula S and they were able to help me secure some parts quickly. My old s2000 had the cookie cutter 2008 track setup which was Recaro SPG, Amuse Replica Front Bumper, Mugen Hardtop, Tein SRC, Amuse R1 Exhaust, RPF1, Voltex Wing and some miscellaneous shit. This time around, I went a little different but followed the same formula.

To start off, I had to buy what I can new and purchased whatever I couldn't used. Looking for parts was sort of a challenge but luckily I managed to find most of the parts. For suspension, I'm doing JRZ RS Pro, of course, along with Megan spherical A arm bushings, Power Flex compliance bushings, EVS front roll center adjuster, ASM front strut bar, Spoon X Brace and new OEM alignment adjusters. I plan on doing Karcepts front sway bar but I think it's best to see how this setup works before I go any further. As for brakes, I decided to do 911 control arm wind diverter to see if it helps with cooling, AP Racing Essex/Urge front competition brake kit, Endless ME20 pads all around and miscellaneous shit like rear rotors and lines. Aero, I'll be doing Shine ASM replica front and rear bumper with lip, Downforce sideskirt splitters, EVS mirrors, Mugen hardtop, Voltex Type 2 and Shine ASM hood. Engine will be pretty much stock with just a Remark/Zero Autofactory rear exhaust and Radium catch cans. Cooling system has already been addressed with new oem hose, thermostat and Koyo radiator. Interior will also be relatively simple with just Recaro RSG-K and EVS Roll bar.

Hopefully this will be a relatively simple and reliable track car but only time will tell.
