Ok I Lied

Yeah, remember the last post about the R33 being the car? Yeah, I lied. Jose traded me his NSX plus cash for the GT3 and I have not once looked back. Yes, the GT3 is amazing, yes I know it's better than the NSX. So? This means one thing, it's time for the R33 to go. I have enjoyed the R33 for what it is but I'm not going to go into another project and spend $80k+ again. It would probably be fun but right now, I'm just trying to drink with the boys and live.

The NSX was pretty much everything I imagined it to be, a Honda version of my RX-7. As many knows, I've had many MANY FD RX-7 over 10 years or some shit. I honestly didn't think anything really compared to the RX-7 and the community until I got the NSX. Holy shit, the community is exactly what you think it's like. Petty dudes hoarding the most mundane part thinking they're going to the grave with their pristine "JAPANESE FERRARI" "RELIABLE FERRARI" "SENNA'S FERRARI". Yeah, Ferrari complex, FOH. It's crazy how hard it is to find parts and seeing the most mundane parts being discontinued is both discouraging and surprising. Either way, the community sucks but I'm glad I have personal friends, not car friends, like Matt, Jeff and Thanh with NSX. Regardless of how much you think you know something, you really don't and it's times like this you need to rely on others for advice.

So why a NSX? It's all Jeff's fault. Around 2011 or so, I remember he told me he got his clean NA1.2 NSX and I rushed over to his place in Anaheim. The car was Spa yellow and it was flamboyant. I immediately started lusting over it but couldn't afford the price tag of $30-40k then. Through the years, I kept searching and when I had $ to buy one, I couldn't find one and vice versa. Some real law of the universe type of shit. If it wasn't for the trade I'm pretty confident I wouldn't get a NSX for another few years when they're worth a ridiculous amount of money. Speaking of that, for those wondering, this car is a $40k MAX driving experience, nothing more.

As for how the car drives, it really reminds me of the S2000. There's definitely similarity between the cars and you can tell they share a very similar ethos and DNA. Unlike the R33, the best part about the car is that it doesn't feel heavy. R33 has this heft to it that makes it feel like it's over 3,500lbs when it's not. I think I'll enjoy the car for what it is and it feels nice to be back into something that feels familiar to my RX-7. I think I'm a real masochist when it comes to these type of cars. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
