I live my life quarter year at a time

Damn, just like that, quarter of 2021 has flown by. It's been a very eventful first quarter and I feel like I finally had a chance to myself to sit down and write my thoughts. 2021 has truly shown all of us the power of the internet and what can happen when groups collaborate online to achieve a goal. Whether it's the DC riots to the stock market fluctuation, it's a powerful reminder of what people can achieve when together. In my case, we all got civics. It all started like this. Eddie painted his civic white, Andrew purchased my old civic, Kenneth got a civic, Cody decides to modify his civic, Yuta decides to destroy his civic, I get a civic, Emerson gets a civic and Kenneth's civic is still stock. Yeah, it sounds ridiculous but it's been a fun month or so of literally every weekend, doing the same thing over and over but with different civics. So why a civic? For most, it's just a cheap fun car that you can modify. In my case, I rather be tracking my civic than the GT3. The reason being, I rather be the fuck ass in a civic inching towards expensive cars rather than the expensive car about to get gapped by a cheap car. Either way, I'll have a post dedicated to the civic later.

What else has happened this year... Well, for one, I got a new 5th gen 4runner as a daily. I thought it would be fun to go off roading here and there, pick up parts with it and maybe do some light towing with it. Well, turns out picking up is all I do with it but that's also slowly coming to a stop since I don't really need to pick up parts any longer. It's a great car otherwise but I still circle back and think the FK8 civic type R is still the ultimate daily/small parts getter.

I guess not much else has happened this year but reflecting back on covid, I think it's been a true blessing in disguise for personal relationships. I didn't think too much about it until with now, things slowly going back to normal. Seeing people becoming busier and having more plans, you take for granted the amount of time you really got to spend with everyone during the lock down. It became more personal with everyone banding together and helping each other. I think this is why I try to spend as much time with everyone since I know times like these are finite and will slowly fade as lives return to normalcy. I don't know, maybe that's just me. This feeling is definitely bittersweet but change is change whether we want it or not.
