Motec!

Went to Garage Bomber Aki's place last Sunday to drop off some parts for the R32 and bring back some parts for my R33. Since the R32 is getting maxed out on channels, I'm at a cross road on either upgrading the ECU to M150 or go with something else. I'm probably going with M150 but it would be pretty cool to check out other options like Syvecs. In the mean time, I dropped off Boost Doc's AN heater core fitting so this way I can run XRP HS79 for the coolant lines. This lets me delete all the unnecessary coolant lines under the Hypertune intake manifold since it'll be DBW setup. I also picked up my M130 with the Powertune RB package. Hopefully I won't have any compatibility issues plugging it into the R33 but seeing how everyone advertises the 32, 33 and 34 as one, I hope it'll be ok.

I also had a chance to chat with Stewart Leask from Leaskspec about the catch can/coolant overflow combo. I requested that instead of AN, we can use some of my spare -12 wiggins since I rather use it than just have them sit on my desk. I'll probably need to figure out how to get some pressed in Wiggins for the valve cover.

Haven’t really done much to the car this week other than cleaning up the lights with LED to modernize it. I don’t really like white LED on old cars so I always prefer to go with soft white LED. Gives it an older look but bright. More parts came in this week including the SPL suspension bits, inner tie rods, Hi-Octane valve cover baffle, Hi-Octane half moon, valve cover gaskets, CAS gaskets and extra GTR key. For the S14, the Berk Technology hi flow cat came in so now the S14 can be a respectable car on the street without smelling like shit. Also mounted some highlighter yellow 57Extreme on the S14. I thought the color would have worked with the grey but I’m definitely not feeling the combo.

Soft white LED and no more chipped away KTS sticker

There was also a fire this week near our other house. We had to evacuate though we don't live there. Wildfires have been a real nuisance as of late.

Last Friday, I started developing a slight 4th gear grind on the R33. I noticed that if I shift slowly, I wouldn't grind but if I shift normally, it would grind. I had a chance to speak with Aki and I went with Redline Heavy Shockproof. Had some free time yesterday so I took it to Zero Auto Factory and had Son change out engine oil, transmission fluid, front and rear differential fluid, and transfer case fluid. Luckily, it seems the fluid still looks fresh but it's better to have a peace of mind.
