33 with a 33 and only $33 Part 2
Part 1 was getting too long since a lot of shit has happened since I got the car. Starting to feel like a big project lol.
So coming back from Sacramento, the suspension felt like dog shit. First thing first, took it to get fluid change and inspect the underside. For a Japanese car from Japan, the underside was pretty clean but a few surface rust on some heat shields and questionable Japanese wiring. Suspension on the other end was pretty bad. There were seized tie rods, ripped control arm bushings and a blown shock gushing fluid everywhere. Luckily for me, I was too lazy to sell some of the harder to find suspension bits from my white 33 and will be using it for this car. Ended up ordering some nismo arms, nismo floor mats and oil filters from RHDjapan. Using some SPL parts, Son and I ended up swapping out the tie rods for 350z inners and SPL outers with correction. Front tension bushing was also ripped so I installed some SPL adjustable ones. Hopefully the JRZ comes in soon so I can install GK Tech upper camber arm, Moonface front roll center ball joint, Nismo rear lower control arm, and SPL rear camber arm.
As for the interior, I put in new Recaros, of course. While the seats were out, I used the Bissell steam cleaner and wet vac the carpet to remove any odor along with new Nismo floor mats. The Recaro made getting in and out a bit of a challenge so I got a new Works Bell Rapfix II QR and Works Bell Short Hub along with a Nardi 340mm Classic in Silver. Other than installing the display and cleaning up the trim, the interiors pretty much done.
Exterior wise, I purchased my old Nismo sideskirts back from the white car. Weird thing is the sideskirts originally came off this purple car and I had them painted white and only to buy it back. Talk about some wife swap shit. For the front lip, I went with an OEM kouki lip to make it a little lower. The headlights were also hazing a bit but luckily a company called Wise Square makes replacement front lens for R33. Lastly, I had to purchase the rear spats to finish off the aero. I think the only piece I might consider adding is Ganador mirrors and Nismo B pillar garnish. The brakes will also probably need to be repainted once the LMGT2 is ready to mount.
