End of the Year Thoughts

Image
It's been a wild year for everyone, I'm sure. For me, the year has gone by quickly from a time perspective. It felt like it was just last week when quarantine happened. From an event perspective though, so much has happened that my road trip in June from Chicago to Los Angeles felt like it was a year ago. I guess maybe I'm at the age where perception between time and event is starting to separate. Regardless, I know that for many, it's been a horrible year. I know that 2021 won't necessarily be a hard reset like all the memes indicate but I hope it's a healing year for those affected. I'm not going to go into  how the year was for me because I feel that my view on 2020 is an outlier to most. This would be ridiculously tone deaf for me to write.  With covid vaccine getting ready to prove their worth in the upcoming weeks or months, let's just hope that there will be slight return to normalcy while maintaining vigilance as we proceed. No matter the outcom...

December Car Update and Thoughts

Image
I was looking at my previous post and realized how unorganized things can be when it’s not constantly updated. Sure I can go back and organize it but once it’s published, that’s it for me.  November and December has been a long month for work and cars. It’s my busy season so day to day feels long but the months have gone by relatively quickly. In November, I sold both the R32 and S14. S14 went to my friend John (IG: @yooitzjohn) since he’s looking to have another drift car. Knowing him, he’s like me, it’ll be gone in a few months.  The R32 was a harder one to sell. Not so much because of how clean it is but mainly because it was a car I really wanted for 4-5 years. I think if the R33 didn’t come along, I wouldn’t have a reason to sell the 32. On the other hand, I’m glad the 32 went to my friend Sako. I know he’s been wanting one for so long so I think this is the perfect car for him.  With the money from the R32 and S14, I used that to purchase a 991.1 GT3. I never ...

R33 December Update

Image
It’s been a while since I’ve updated the blog. The R33 remains sitting with a few parts arriving here and there. Drove it around a few times to remind myself how good the car is. So far, since the last blog, the front lip, sideskirts, mirror, and a few suspension bits have arrived. Of the parts that arrived, the nismo rear lower control arm and Moonface ball joints were the most disappointing. The LCA had some weld splatters and the ball joint anodizing looked like shit. I’m sure the parts will work well as intended but for the price, I was expecting better. Also had a chance to install the HKS exhaust. Unlike the Ganador exhaust, the exhaust points straight out to give it that OEM look. Compared to the Ganador, the exhaust is significantly quieter so that means I’ll probably go with a high flow cat. Currently waiting on the Nismo front bumper before taking the car into paint or for the front upper control arm to take it to Zero Auto Factory for suspension overhaul. Either way, January...
